Cornarea "Terre dei Ro" Roero Arneis DOCG

Cornarea "Terre dei Ro" Roero Arneis DOCG

The Cornarea winery is located in the municipality of Canale, in the center of the Roero, a small hilly area on the border with the Langhe, devoted to wine since ancient times.

Cornarea owes its name to the hill where its vineyards lie - so-called since the year 1000 - on the top of the hill the unmistakable shape of the Cornarea castle.

The history of the company is closely linked to that of Roero Arneis, a rare white wine. In the early 1970s Piero Bovone, the owner, was the first to believe in this white and invested in its recovery, planting 12 hectares of Arneis vineyards (1976). Within a few years this very special white became appreciated first in Italy and then abroad.

About the Producer

Azienda Agricola Le Ginestre is located in the municipality of Grinzane Cavour, about 6 km from Alba, in the Langhe hills of Piedmont, where the production of Barolo is part of the local history.

In the winery the wines are processed as little as possible while preserving the varietal characteristics to the maximum. The submerged cap vinification, used in the old times, provides the best extraction of the coloring and aromatic substances contained in the skins, favoring the tasty and long-lived Barolos.
